Mentor

Kristian Bush

Song Writer / Producer

Kristian Bush is an award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer who co-founded the band Sugarland in 2002. He recently visited The Blackbird Academy during our first ever Summer Recording Camp for high school students, who came from all over the United States and Canada. Kristian talked about his career with our students, then took the class through his production process from concept to finished recording.

Students benefited from learning from and having their questions answered by an artist who has had eight chart-topping singles, sold more than 22 million albums worldwide, and won Grammy, AMA, ACM, CMT, and CMA Awards. There is no better way to learn about songwriting and production than from a successful mentor working in the field!

The Blackbird Academy’s Studio Engineering and Live Sound Engineering programs are based on these same principles. Expose students to the best gear and facilities, the best instructors, and a revolving list of guest mentors who have achieved the top accolades of our industry.

We emphasize real-world experience, not paper testing. We don’t talk about doing; we challenge you on the gear you’ll use in your career. The Blackbird Academy provides the best audio education possible. Put yourself on the fast track by contacting us or applying online today.
